Thirty-six-year-old Brad Spafford appeared in U.S. District Court in Norfolk on Wednesday. He was arrested in Isle of Wight County last month on a charge of owning an unregistered short-barrel rifle. Investigators then found around 150 homemade explosive devices inside Spafford's home, leading to a charge of having an unregistered explosive device. More charges could be placed before Spafford's trial on May 28th.
