Superintendent Michelle Reid has told student's families in her district that they should keep sending their children to school. Several families have raised concerns regarding Trump's recent order allowing immigration customs and enforcement to make arrests at places like schools, churches, and hospitals. Those sensitive places had been previously off limits by ICE officers in prior administrations. Reid says she's asked staff and school administrators to connect with her office if ICE agents enter schools. Fairfax County does not have any reports of federal officers entering schools as of now.
