According to a new study published in Canadian Journal of Cardiology, found despite being heavily processed, soy consumption is associated with a 17 percent reduction in heart disease risk, 18 percent reduction in stroke risk, and is linked to reducing cancer risk. The study reviewed research published from over the last 50 years, and found that although meat alternatives ingredients vary, they're generally lower in saturated fat, cholesterol, and in many cases were higher in fiber and “good” polyunsaturated fats.
