An analysis in the Roanoke Valley reveals that farmers' markets and farm shares are not profitable, some say due to oversaturation and competition. Virginia Cooperative Extension is hosting a Farm Profitability Workshop to discuss ways to improve market profitability by studying successful models in other cities. The workshop will also explore the potential benefits of farm shares in increasing sales. WDBJ reports the event aims to bring the community together to address these challenges and find solutions. The Farm Profitability Workshop is scheduled for Sunday, June 1st, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the Brambleton Center gym in Roanoke, with a Zoom option available for remote participation.
