Hudson was killed exactly 80 years ago while serving in Northern France. In 1944, he died at the age of 21 after his unit came under heavy fire from German forces. Hudson's remains were accounted for last December after they were exhumed from the U.S. Military Cemetery in France, which is now known as the Brittany American Cemetary. Hudson will be buried in his hometown of Lynchburg.
