The city announced yesterday it's activating the Dock Street floodwall as a cautionary measure due to the recent heavy rainfall. Dock Street will be closed between 17th and 21st streets while the floodwall is activated. Detours will be in place. The city has already closed Bosher's Dam and several of the floodwall's interior gates. Crews have also been cleaning storm drains in areas prone to flooding. Richmond is also opening its Inclement Weather Shelter on Chamberlayne Ave at 8:00 tomorrow morning for single men and women and service animals. The Overflow Weather Shelter on East Marshall Street will open at 10:00 tomorrow morning. Families are welcome there.
