Central Virginia residents wanting to learn more about native vegetation can join a foraging walk at Powhatan [[POW-ah-tan]] State Park this Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. The walk will cover less than a mile and focus on identifying fruits and edibles in the forest, like persimmons and mulberries. Participants will meet at the Launch A parking area and explore for ripe pawpaws and spicebush berries. Comfortable hiking shoes and water are recommended, and there is no registration fee, but standard park admission applies.
