The American National Standards Institute granted accreditation to the department for their inspection of latent fingerprints, making them one of only 31 agencies in the U.S. to receive this recognition. In addition, the department was also accredited in scene investigation, placing them among only 28 agencies in the U.S. to achieve this status.
