The University of Virginia Board of Visitors is considering acquiring the now-defunct Federal Executive Institute property, which was dissolved by President Donald Trump in February. Charlottesville City Schools and UVA are both interested in the facilities, with CCS planning to use it for a centralized preschool and administration offices. VPM dot com reports that UVA estimates renovation costs of $1.85 million and ongoing costs of $1.9 million for the property. Some community members are urging UVA to support the CCS bid for the property, arguing that UVA faculty and staff would benefit from their children attending the CCS school instead.
