The company announced Friday that it has halted all operations at the plant due to a reduction in homebuilding that has affected its plywood business. More than 550 employees worked at the plant, and the company says they will receive at least 60 days of pay and benefits. Elected leaders say they will work with state and local agencies to assist the affected workers.
