The board agreed to a resolution on Friday telling UVA Health not to accept new patients under the age of 19 seeking gender-affirming care. The board cited "significant legal and funding uncertainties facing the University" for the decision. Patients currently receiving such care will be allowed to do so through UVA Health. The decision comes after President Trump issued an executive order telling health providers to stop providing gender-affirming care for youth or risk losing their federal funding.
