>>Governor Youngkin Gives Amendments For Skill Games
(Richmond, VA) -- Governor Youngkin has released his amendments for a bill that deals with skill games in Virginia. Sara Bartlett has more.Preview: Voicer Script:
The amendments would ban the games within 25-hundred feet of a school, childcare center or place of worship. In addition, it would ban them within 35-miles of a casino or horse racing establishment. The number of skill machines allowed in the state would be 20-thousand and the tax rate would rise from 25-percent to 35-percent. There would also be ways to ban the machines -- power to do so will be given to localities and cities as well as the Virginia Lottery. The General Assembly will be reviewing the Governor's amendments when they reconvene next week.
