The governors of Virginia, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania sent a letter to the governor of the islands last week asking for the release of the three men. The letter said the men made a mistake but had no "malicious intent." Five Americans have been in custody on ammunition charges in Turks and Caicos since February. That number includes Virginia's Tyler Weinrich, who was arrested last month after authorities found two loose bullets in his backpack.
