(Richmond, VA) -- A local security expert is asking parents to play a role in making sure graduation ceremonies in Richmond are safe. Richard Stelling reports...Preview: The school district recently announced changes were coming after a deadly shooting outside Huguenot High School's graduation ceremony last June at the Altria Theater. There won't be any ceremonies at the theater this year. Instead, the Greater Richmond Convention Center will be used. Security analyst Mike Jones says that's an easier space to monitor than the theater. Those entering the venue will have to pass through metal detectors, and Jones expects extra patrols outside, too. He also tells 8News parents need to be aware and alert and notify police if they see anything suspicious. I'm Richard Stelling.
