Experts warning that they're seeing financial grooming scams on the rise, with scammers building relationships with victims before carrying out their schemes. According to the Better Business Bureau these scams can be devastating, taking weeks to months for scammers to gain victims' trust. Among the top of them listed include cryptocurrency and investment scams being the most common, followed by employment and romance and friendship scams. WDBJ reports that around 30 percent of victims report suffering mental health issues as a result of being scammed.
