(Richmond, VA) -- Monday is set to be a hot one. Rocio Rivera has more on the excessive heat warning.Preview: An excessive heat warning is in effect today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. tonight. It will affect the D.C area and Virginia, including Prince George's, Montgomery, Arlington and Fairfax counties. Temps are expected to rise close to 100 degrees with heat index values up to 112. There's also an air quality alert in parts of Prince George, and Montgomery counties. The D.C. area is expected to be in a code yellow air quality alert, meaning children, the elderly and those with resperatory issues should limit their time outdoors.
