A Virginia Tech economic analysis has determined that the damage from Hurricane Helene to Virginia’s agriculture, forestry, and other industries is estimated to be between $416 and $630 million dollars. The estimates include direct losses on farms, future income losses for producers, and the ripple effects on the regional economy. 10 On Your Side reports that the ripple effects of the storm on the regional economy were calculated to be between $191.1 million and $404.8 million.
