According to offcials, out of around the 520 people, 132 of them have gang affiliations such as MS-13. The governor praised the leadership of President Trump and calling for the model to be replicated nationwide. This comes after the signing of Executive Order 47 in February, which directed the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Department of Corrections to work with federal law enforcement agencies in efforts to crackdown on U.S. Immigration. WTVR reports that the Task Force includes personnel from various agencies like ICE, FBI, and Virginia State Police, working to address transnational organized crime in the state.
