(Salem, VA) -- The Virginia Department of Transportation wants people to stay home rather than risk having a crash due to icy road conditions. Richard Stelling reports.Preview: Voicer Script:
The agency says it may take several days to clear roads affected by ice and snow. The Virginia State Police says troopers responded to more than 100 crashes in the Wytheville and Salem Districts between noon and 3:30 p.m. yesterday. Seven people were injured but no deaths were reported. Additional troopers have been deployed and are working 12-hour shifts to help deal with any crashes.
