The district has sent out a memo to Lynchburg parents, asking them to return reading materials handed out to some 4th and 5th graders during Enrollment Day. Deputy Superintendent Amy Pugh says the book titled "Free Speech Handbook" has adult satire in it. She told ABC13 that the inappropriate literature donated by the Virginia Education Foundation should never have gone out in the first place...

Meanwhile, the foundation says while they think the material is appropriate, they respect the opinion of Lynchburg educators and parents. The district is working with the organization to prevent future issues.
