(Lexington, VA) -- Liberty University and Virginia Military Institute will be represented in the upcoming presidential inaugural parade, along with three other Virginia units.

The VMI Corps of Cadets has a long history of participating in inaugural parades, dating back to 1909. This will be the first time a Liberty contingent marches in the parade, with LU Praise having performed at the Inaugural National Prayer Service in 2017. The Cardinal News reports the other Virginia entries are from Benedictine College Preparatory in Richmond, Fork Union Military Academy in Louisa County and the TAPS College Experience for Teens and Parents in Arlington County. In total, 39 groups will be part of the parade.
