(Norfolk, VA) -- Two parents accused of killing their newborn child in southeastern Virginia will undergo competency evaluations. Madison Roberts reports.Preview: Voicer Script:
The attorneys for Z'ibreyea [[ zuh-bray-uh ]] Parker and Hilary Johnson the second requested the examinations while in court on Thursday morning. Authorities say the couple's nine-day-old daughter was found unresponsive with serious injuries at The Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters in Norfolk back in May. Authorities say there were signs of abuse with burns and bruises found on the baby's body. The parents will remain in jail without bond. They are due back in court in October, which is also when their competency reports are due.
