While beginning her studies at Virginia Tech, Dr. Morgan Washburn found her passion for agriculture through a chance elective class. The ag teacher at Franklin County High School says she firmly believes in the importance of hands-on learning experiences for her students. So much so that she got her CDL so she could drive them out of the classroom and onto the farm to apply their knowledge. WDBJ reports her students visited 15 operations in the county last semester.
