The second quarter economic forecast from UVA's Weldon Cooper Center predicts a loss of 32-thousand jobs in the state by the end of this year. Analysts think Virginia's unemployment rate will reach four percent, the highest rate since 2021. The report also predicts that inflation will increase to two-point-six percent by the end of the year, mainly due to international tariffs.
