According to 8News, Jones filed the paperwork in August to run for the position in 2025. Jones is an attorney who was also a Democratic state delegate from 2018 to 2021. Democrat Shannon Taylor, Henrico Commonwealth's Attorney, is also running for the position that's currently held by Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares.
