Jasmine Ward claims that despite working for over two years, she rarely received breaks and was still docked 30 minutes for meal breaks on days she didn't take them. She filed a lawsuit that states that Sentara's auto-deduction policy deducts 30 minutes of pay daily from patient care employees, regardless of actual breaks taken. 13News Now reports Ward and other employees were also affected by the company's rounding policy, which rounds hours worked to the nearest quarter hour, violating labor laws. Sentara Health is currently investigating the lawsuit.
