It was to be held at City Stadium, but now WSET-TV reports city leaders saying it has been cancelled to "ensure everyone's welfare." Officials added that it was a "difficult decision," but that the "safety and wellbeing of attendees, volunteers and employees are the utmost priority." Leaders have said there haven't been any immediate threats to the community surrounding the event, but Lynchburg City Manager said "recent national events and discussions have raised concerns about potential misuse of events" like this one.
