Culpeper County supervisors recently denied proposed ordinance amendments that would regulate subdivisions in agricultural and rural areas by increasing minimum residential lot sizes. Inside NoVa reports the amendments were recommended for denial by the planning commission after a public hearing attended by hundreds. Supervisors expressed concerns about the impact of uncontrolled growth on county services and tax rates, and discussed the need for a comprehensive approach to managing growth. While the amendments were rejected, supervisors are exploring other options to address the issue and slow down growth in the county.
