Retired U.S. Fish and Wildlife Investigator Andrew Cortez is critical of the state's purchase of an over $183 thousand dollar 2024 Pathfinder boat with fishing features, questioning its suitability for law enforcement purposes. The VMRC defended the purchase, stating that the vessel would be used for law enforcement and search and rescue operations.
