Meals on Wheels programs are facing concerns about potential funding loss due to a federal freeze on grants and loans. While a temporary restraining order has been issued to block the freeze, the Trump administration plans to proceed with some form of funding pause. A notice, volunteers in with program in Norfolk say is alarming as they serve up to 2,000 meals aday. They aren't alone. 13 News Now repors that other Organizations like Peninsula Agency on Aging and Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia rely heavily on federal funding to provide meals and services to seniors. Despite the uncertainty, these organizations are committed to continuing their services and supporting the community however possible.
