A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held yesterday at Vernon Johns Middle School. That's where a vacant classroom was turned into an interactive medical lab. The project is the result of a partnership between Petersburg City Public Schools, Communities in Schools and HCA Virginia. They say the state-of-the-art medical classroom provides hands-on learning experiences and early exposure to the various pathways available in healthcare careers. Superintendent Yolanda Brown tells 12 On Your Side she wants kids to dream big and make those dreams a reality.
