New data connects adults perceptions of adulthood, or rather wether or not the person believes they have achieved goals of adulthood is linked to their mental health. The research showerded those who believed they had achieved specific milestones tended to have better mental health.The study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health had participants complete assessments of life markers examples including education, career, marrying, or parenting. Then answered sets of mental health questions which evaluated well-being, life satisfaction, optimism, and self-esteem. The study involved over 1,700 people with the participants’ ranging from 16 to 93.
