A Democratic proposal to increase the state's minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour is moving forward in the House of Delegates. The Labor and Commerce Committee voted 11-9 to advance the measure, sending it to the House Appropriations Committee for further review. The bill would increase Virginia's minimum wage to 13-50 an hour next year and 15 dollars an hour in 2027. Governor Youngkin vetoed a similar proposal last year.
