(Norfolk, VA) -- The World Health Organization says Mpox is a global health emergency. Rocio Rivera has more on what that means for Virginia.Preview: The Virginia Department of Health reports Mpox is on the rise in the state and has been for the last couple of years. They say Virginia Beach and Norfolk are seeing the highest number of cases with about 40 each. The WHO says men who have sex with other men are those at highest risk. But Mpox is not a sexually transmitted disease. It spreads through close contact with an infected person. The good news is there is a vaccine. It's a two shot series taken several weeks apart. The Virginia Dept. of Health urges everyone who's at risk to get it. I'm RR.
