Blakely Lockhart, an infant neurodevelopment researcher, has been named a 2025 Early Career Policy Ambassador by the Society for Neuroscience. As part of the program, Lockhart will advocate for neuroscience research and engage with policymakers to inform policies impacting the field. Lockhart, who previously ran for office in Virginia, is now pursuing a doctoral degree in neuroscience at Virginia Tech, focusing on how maternal factors influence infant brain development. She aims to bridge the gap between science and policy to improve outcomes for families and infants.
