Starting January 1st, Virginia's minimum wage will raise to $12.41 because of a law that requires the standard be adjusted for inflation. Colleges and universities will be banned from giving special treatment to those with legacy status or if students are related to a large donor to the schools. WSET reports the age for jury duty exemption will rise from 70 years old to 73. As well, screenings for colorectal cancer will not only be covered by insurance, but those companies also cannot charge a deductible, coinsurance, or any other cost-sharing requirement for that screening.
