(Norfolk, VA) -- Old Dominion University's 15th annual Life in Hampton Roads survey revealed that a majority of residents believe the region's quality of life and economy have declined in recent years. Thomas Cage explains.Preview: Voicer Script:
The survey, conducted by ODU's Social Science Research Center, covered various topics including attitudes toward police, the economy, regionalism, politics, and flooding. WAVY reports results showed while 60% of respondents believe they have an excellent quality of life and 38% report favorable economic conditions, it's a decrease in positive perceptions since 2019. Additionally, respondents expressed support for combining certain public services across jurisdictions, with restaurants, higher education, and shopping receiving the highest ratings among amenities in the region.
