The property, located south of Leesburg, is currently owned by the DeLashmutt family, who are working with The Conservation Fund to transfer ownership to the public. The Loudoun Board of Supervisors has committed $22 million to support the acquisition, with an endowment being established for ongoing operational costs. Loudoun Now dot com reports the House's budget includes funding for five positions in the Department of Conservation and Recreation to operate the state park, which was not included in the Senate's budget package.
