Aliyah Majeed says she started the "One World Reading Initiative" to provide diverse books to under-served children in her community. Recognized for her commitment, WUSA9 reports Majeed received the 2024 Youth Volunteer Service Award from Volunteer Arlington. She says her goal is to expand the program region-wide to continue supporting young readers. Majeed's initiative highlights the importance of early access to books for children's academic success and socio-emotional development.
