Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares announced that the Commonwealth has reached a deal with opioid manufacturer Amneal Pharmaceuticals. It was found that the company, one of the largest opioid manufacturers between 2006 and 2019, failed to monitor or report suspicious orders placed by customers. Nearly nine billion pills were sold in that thirteen year time period. In a statement, Miyares said "The prescription opioid crisis wreaked havoc across Virginia." The settlement is 270-million dollars and also includes California, Delaware, New York, Tennessee and Utah. Virginia is set to get about three-point-one million dollars.
