>>Four Virginia Students Create App to Find Oral Cancer
(Fairfax County, VA) -- Four Virginia students have created an app to identify oral cancer. Rocio Rivera has details.Preview: Four students from Fairfax County have created an an app called OCRadar. Aniketh Bandlamudi, Vishal Manikanden, Malek Swilam, and Lauren Kim have teamed up to create the app which uses a smart phone to take a picture of a person's mouth, and then scans the image and produces information on whether or not there is a cancerous tumor inside. The app uses AI and compares the person's picture to images of hundreds of others that are healthy, or have benign and malignant tumors. The students say they're working on getting FDA approval to get the app onto the App Store and Play Store. They also plan to make the app free. I'm RR.
