More than two-thousand people are awaiting transplants in the Commonwealth and specifically, doctors at Carilion Clinic, based in Roanoke, tells WSLS-TV that by 2025 the need for kidney transplants is expected to grow by more than 25-percent.Preview: Transplant Surgeon Dr. David Salzberg says Carilion has been working to start an adult kidney transplant program at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. If approved, it would be the eighth transplant center in Virginia.
