State lawmakers seem ready to pass a measure that would require schools to quickly notify parents if there is a student overdose. The state Senate unanimously passed their version of the bill yesterday. A House subcommittee also advanced a similar measure. The bills would require schools to notify parents within 24 hours of a school-connected student overdose. Governor Youngkin issued an executive order requiring 24-hour parental notification in 2023.
