House Bill 2373 includes a 10-point list of school-related rights for parents in Virginia's K-12 public schools. The bill would grant parents the right to review all books and instructional materials as well as opt their child out of any sexually explicit material or assignments. Additionally, parents would be able to control the collection and transmission of their child’s data, get notified of any surveys being offered, and be made aware of any counseling services that their child is receiving while at school. WRIC reports the bill is currently awaiting review by the House of Delegates' Committee on Education.
