Millions of pets are microchipped for identification, but one company, Save This Life, has reportedly gone out of business, leaving pet owners concerned about the status of their chips. The Norfolk SPCA recommends having a QR code on your pet's collar as an additional form of identification. 10 On Your Side reports that If your pet was registered with Save This Life, you will need to re-register the chip with another company using the 15-digit ID number. The activated chips are important in reuniting lost pets with their owners.
