The project went into operation last June. Mountain Valley filed lawsuits against more than 50 individuals who obstructed construction, seeking damages for interference. A federal judge in Roanoke denied a request to dismiss one lawsuit, while striking down part of another. The Roanoke Times reports legal proceedings continue as the company alleges conspiracy among opponents, with some cases proceeding to trial. Despite the challenges, resistance against the pipeline remains in the spotlight, with ongoing concerns about environmental impact and seizure of private land.
