Voicer Script:
Senators passed a bill limiting law enforcement access to the technology's data for specific situations like criminal investigations or finding missing persons. Changes also included reducing the data retention period from 30 days to 21 days and the addition of a provision requiring re-approval of a portion of the bill next year before Automatic License Plate Reader cameras can be installed on state roads and highways. The bill will now move to a conference committee for the House and Senate to reconcile differences before potentially reaching Governor Glenn Youngkin's desk for approval.
