The Great Southeast Pollinator Census involves counting butterflies and bees landing on specific plants to track the health of the pollinator population. The data from the annual census since 2017 has shown the negative impact of pesticides and development on pollinators, but citizen scientists aim to raise awareness and reverse the trend to protect the vital role of pollinators in food production.
