Port leaders delivered the State of the Port address this week. Virginia Port Authority CEO and Executive Director Stephen Edwards said the port has received high marks for efficiency, adding that hours of operation have been expanded to accommodate more deliveries. Edwards also said the port has great resiliency in being able to adapt to changes after the collapse of the Key Bridge. The Port of Virginia is now using an appointment system for deliveries of cargo. Since the collapse, the Port of Virginia has handled between 15-thousand and 20-thousand containers.
