Ports in Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Newport News could be affected by the potential strike. The International Longshoremen's Association is preparing to have longshoremen walk off the job if a deal is not reached by Monday. The port says if that happens, it will halt operations by six p.m. Monday. More than 565-thousand jobs are connected to port operations in Virginia.
